Taking the exam from home (with online supervision)

Verify technical settings

  • If you are taking the exam from home, there are a number of things you need to do before your exam date to ensure that your exam day runs smoothly, including setting up your workspace and making sure that your computer meets all the technical requirements.
  • You must take your exam on a desktop or laptop computer with a working webcam. All tablets and mobile devices are strictly forbidden. We recommend that you use a personal computer – a school or work computer may have security features that block the exam..
Note: Very restrictive firewalls may block unknown websites, so make sure you have permission to access all websites.
  • To avoid any unexpected errors on the day of the exam, we will check the compatibility of your technical settings before allowing you access to the exam. You start the ‘system check’ process by clicking on the link you received in the email from PRUEFSTER. It will automatically check that your computer has a working webcam and microphone and that your operating system, browser and internet connection meet the minimum technical requirements. You may need to authorize access to the camera, which may be internal or external and connected to your computer. However, you must not use any externally connected devices such as monitors, extended keyboards, writing tablets, touch screen pens or other similar screen writing devices.
Note: We recommend that you check your technical settings a few days before the exam so that you can replace your computer if it is not working properly.
  • Our monitoring can be done using Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Mozilla Firefox.
Note: Microsoft Edge will only be compatible with the Chromium-based version from 2020.
  • You need a stable internet connection to stream your video. Your internet connection is checked during our system check, but you can also run a speed test at any time, e.g. on speedtest.net.
Note: You should be able to upload at least 1.0 MBps to ensure stable streaming.

Taking the exam

  • Log in to the eedison.eu website.
  • Once you have completed the registration form and paid for the exam, you can take the exam at any time by clicking on the link sent to you by email from PRUEFSTER (if you have chosen to take the exam at home on the registration form), the same link you used to check your technical settings.
  • Remove any prohibited items from your desk (see note below), make sure you have a power source and a stable internet connection (preferably wired).
Note: The following personal items must not be accessible during the exam: mobile phones, headphones (wired or Bluetooth), handheld computers or other electronic devices, ringers, watches, wallets, purses, hats (or other headgear), bags, coats or other items that have not been specifically approved. All such items and devices must be out of sight/reach during the examination. Breaks, eating and smoking are also prohibited.
  • You must have a valid form of photo identification (ID card, passport or driver’s license). The online proctor will verify that the name on your ID matches the first and last name you provided when you registered for the exam.
  • The exam will be taken in a secure, locked browser – once the proctor has started your exam, all applications other than the test taking software will be closed and disabled. During the exam you will be monitored by the proctor via webcam and microphone and the entire session will be recorded.
  • The exams are ‘open book’, which means that you may use the texts and materials you have studied, but you may not give or receive help or otherwise communicate with other people during the exam.
  • A few seconds after the end of the exam, your score will appear on the screen along with your grade. Your grade will also be sent to your e-mail address.
ATTENTION: It takes us 48 hours to review the recording of the exam, so the result will not be valid until this time has elapsed. We will notify you by email of any violations found.

Getting a certificate

  • Ask the Certification Body – the Association for the Development of Knowledge (Janez Dekleva, janez.dekleva@zrz.si, 00 386 41 609 892) what conditions you need to fulfil in order to obtain the desired professional qualification certificate.
  • The requirements always include one or more exams in individual competencies, which must be passed successfully.
