Testing the knowledge of professional competence
- Theoretical knowledge of professional competence is tested.
- Theoretical knowledge can be tested online at a testing center, by accessing the List of Exams where the exam you want to take is located, or by taking the exam at home, with online supervision.
Taking the test at the testing center
- The testing center is a contractual partner of the Edison Consortium.
- The testing center provides an exam classroom and supervision of the examination.
The exam classroom may include:
- one or more computers connected to the World Wide Web,
- blank sheets of paper, pencil and eraser for each candidate.
If more than one candidate is taking the exam in the classroom at the same time, the following is required:
- the personal presence of the exam supervisor and / or
- a camera that monitors the exam candidates in real time during the examination with a visual link to the exam supervisor, who may be in another room.
Taking the test from home
If you take the exam at home, follow the instructions for taking the exam.
Conditions for taking the exam
A candidate is entitled to take the exam if he/she:
- completed the exam Application Form,
- has registered to take the exam at home or at a testing center of his/her choice,
- has paid the examination fee,
- has paid the costs of the testing center,
- is registered on the eedison.eu website.
Withdrawal from the examination
The candidate may withdraw from the examination in accordance with the rules of the chosen testing center.
Prohibition from taking the examination
A candidate who is not registered for the examination in accordance with the Exam Rules will not be allowed to take the examination.
The course of the online part of the exam
Exam supervisor:
- verifies the candidate’s identity,
- checks that the candidate is registered for the exam at their testing center,
- directs the candidate to a computer with access to the online exam at the scheduled time – candidates can also take the exam on their own laptop or phone.
Candidate:
- prepares copyrighted literature and own notes,
- logs on to the exam website using his/her login details,
- carefully reads the initial exam instructions, including the duration of the exam, the number of points available, the conditions for passing the exam, etc.,
- presses the button to start taking the exam and begins answering questions.
Grading the online part of the exam
- The online/theoretical part of the exam covers knowledge from the entire content of the exam catalogue.
- Candidates who pass the theoretical part of the exam will receive a grade of 6 to 10 or pass, while those who fail will receive a grade of 5 or fail/not pass.
- Candidates will be informed of their grade by email immediately after the exam and no later than two working days after the exam.
Do’s and don’ts at the testing centre
Permitted:
- copyrighted literature,
- the candidate’s own notes.
Prohibited:
- any cooperation with others,
- smartphone, tablet, smartwatch,
- copies of literature,
- taking photos of exam questions,
- writing down exam questions,
- copying from pre-written answers to questions.
Violation of Exam Rules
A candidate who colludes, uses prohibited devices or otherwise violates the examination rules will be disqualified by the exam supervisor from further participation in the examination. The candidate’s examination will be marked as fail and the board may prohibit the candidate from taking the examination again.
Access to examination answers
Candidates have the right to inspect their examination papers and to be given an explanation of their grade.
Candidates will be given access to their answers personally by the chairman of the Examination Board or the examination centre upon written request made no later than 3 working days after the date of notification of the examination results.
Objection to the exam grade
If the candidate disagrees with the grade, he/she may appeal to the Examination Board within three working days of seeing the answers to the examination.
The chairman of the Examination Board shall decide on the appeal within fifteen working days of receiving the appeal and may confirm the grade if he/she finds that the grade is correct or change the grade if he/she finds that the grade is incorrect.
The decision of the chairman of the Examination Board is final.
Repeating the exam
The candidate may retake the exam several times.
Award of certificate
Candidates who:
- have successfully passed the exam and
- meet the eligibility criteria specified in the examination catalogue
will be issued a Certificate of a Professional Competence. Candidates who have passed all the examinations required for an individual qualification will be issued a Certificate of a Professional Qualification.
The certificate is not a public document but has the character of a proof of competence.
Archiving
The list of candidates who have passed the exam is archived in electronic and printed form, in accordance with the Protection of Documents and Archives and Archival Institutions Act.
