PQA: Power Quality Analyzing & Reporting (ADK: D-5/919)

The knowledge is focused on certification and assuring of the quality of the voltage, current and phase angle recording over standardised period of time, calculate hundreds of parameters according to IEEE 1448, IEEE 1459, IEEE 519, IEC 61000 series, EN 50160 and several other with reporting accordingly. Certified candidate is qualified to recognise faults and bad conditions as well as confirm good quality of the system. Use of Class A or Class S test equipment, recognise and select the proper type of equipment and accessories, evaluate the accuracy of results and PASS or FAIL barriers. The responsibility of the candidate is to make correct reporting, marking, acting and informing appropriately.

Areas of Application

  • Automatic Voltage and Power Quality Analysis according to EN 50160 with PASS / FAIL limit evaluation, including flickers and harmonics;
  • IEEE-519 Recommended Practice and Requirements for Harmonics Control in Electric Power Systems report creation;
  • Energy Demand report creation;
  • Power quality standard IEC 61000-4-30 Class A. Predefined recorder profile for EN 50160 survey;
  • Use of Troubleshooting and Maintenance Tool to discover voltage sags,swells and dips, RVC evaluation, resonant states, Power Factor evaluation, high neutral conductor currents in 3-phase systems, asymmetry, voltage unbalance, inrush currents, transients;
  • Compare the results simultaneously for evaluate operating of filtering systems, power correction equipment, over voltage protection and UPS systems;
  • Use of Power Quality Negotiating Tool;
  • Download, view and analyse with PowerView PC SW of functionalities needed for evaluation of power quality phenomena and creation of complex reports.

Regulation, Literature and Standards

  • IEEE 519 Reporting and evaluating of the results
  • EN 50160 Voltage quality reporting and evaluating of the results
  • IEC 61000-4-30/-7/-15 – Power quality measurement methods, testing and measurment techniques
  • Handbook with Exercises ˝ Low Voltage Electrical Installation Safety˝, Academy@Metrel
